Join Chris Morasky for a life-changing experience this summer! We’ll be camping among some of the oldest trees on the planet, the ancient Sequoias, on land that has been a summer gathering place of tribes for thousands of years. Each night we’ll gaze with wonder at the Perseid meteor showers and see up to 60 shooting stars per hour at it’s peak!

During this magical week, 10 youths will come together through ancient skills, deep nature connection, solo time, trout fishing, stalking deer in the meadow, campfire stories, cooking together and so much more!

We will hike in almost 4 miles to our camp. Everyone needs a comfortable backpack (not a day pack) and basic backpacking gear for a compact pack weighing no more than 15-20 pounds.

I will provide a pack list, locations to rent/buy equipment and a video of my pack and items for your guidance. We’ll have a Zoom call a week or two before camp to go over details, expectations and questions.

Because of Covid-19, all participants must be free of symptoms and agree to social distancing guidance for 2 weeks prior to summer camp. I will not require mask use or social distancing during our week together. I will allow the kids to be kids. Handwashing and sanitation of cooking gear will be closely monitored. I’ll share more details in the weeks to come. If you have questions or suggestions please contact me.

About your guides:

Chris Morasky is a wildlife biologist with over 35 years experience teaching ancient skills and nature connection and is considered one of the top Stone Age skills experts in North America. He lived in a tipi for 6 years, homesteaded along the most remote mail route in the lower 48 states and led totally Stone Age expeditions into the wilderness of Idaho and Oregon. His teachers include Lakota, Shoshone, Arapaho, Crow, Blackfeet and Serri tribesmen, many wilderness skills experts and life itself. Chris’ workshops focus on awakening instincts, ancient skills and deep nature connection as doorways to understand more fully who we are, why we’re here and where we’re headed.

Cash Robertson is an herbalist and forager. Cash’s dream as a child was to become a herpetologist. He learned edible plants and mushrooms and a love of nature from his Grandmother who saw the magic in the world… a magic Cash loves to share with children, who experience that unseen magic that comes from a deep connection with nature. He enjoys fishing, foraging and hiking.

Shelby Kolar is an herbalist and forager. She loves being outdoors connecting with the natural world and sharing that love with others by helping people connect with the plants and landscapes around them. She is passionate about sustainability and enjoys crafts. As a former nanny, sharing the joy of nature with children comes naturally.
